Kids Immune Protein, Strawberry Fort pouch
Nicola pouring milk for her two children at the bench

Hi, I'm Nic. Nutritionist, mum of three, and the person who stirred the first version of this on our kitchen bench.

My eldest was in his first year of daycare, catching everything going around, and he'd gone right off his food. One day I asked him what he would actually eat. He said, "a milkshake?" So I made him one that did the hard work: protein, his immune nutrients, a probiotic, nothing sweet added.

That's the scoop you're looking at. Mitch, my partner and a GP, checks every ingredient and every amount before it goes anywhere near the kids. It's still what ours have while I'm packing lunchboxes.

Three seconds of the real thing

Why one scoop

Four jobs, one milkshake.

Every number here is read straight off the label. Percentages are the recommended daily intake for a child aged 1 to 3.

9.4gprotein a scoop

Protein, for growing

Breakfast for most kids is the carb-heavy meal of the day. A scoop in their milk is the easiest protein top-up I know, and collagen tastes like a milkshake rather than a supplement.

205%vitamin C · 50% vit D · 42% zinc

Their immune nutrients, daily

Vitamin C from camu camu, vitamin D from organic shiitake and zinc together support normal immune function. Handy on the days the veg goes untouched.

1.5bnCFU probiotic + prebiotic fibre

A happy gut

Prebiotic fibre from Queensland green bananas and acacia, with Bacillus coagulans, a probiotic tough enough to survive the stomach and the pantry.

0mgiron, on purpose

Zinc, kept away from iron

Zinc and iron compete for absorption, so we left iron out so the zinc does its job. If your child needs iron, our Whole Iron +C does that on its own.

Servings per pouch: 22. Serving size: 15g of dry powder (one scoop, about 1.5 tablespoons). Percentages are the recommended dietary intake for children aged 1 to 3 years.

Strawberry Fort adds coconut milk powder and beetroot for the pink; Cacao Cavalry adds raw cacao and carob; Vanilla Vanguard uses vanilla bean compounds.

The kids LOVE it. We make ice cream with it!!
Ashley · Strawberry Fort
Toddler fave night routine. He absolutely loves his choccy milk and I love it because I know he is getting all the good stuff for his growing body. On nights where dinner is untouched, him going to bed after having this brings me so much peace of mind.
Bev · Cacao Cavalry
My child loves the taste. We use it in a smoothie for breakfast each morning and I like knowing he starts the day with a full tummy and lots of great nutrients.
Verified buyer · Vanilla Vanguard
My daughter loves this. I love that it's so filled with nutrients, and with milk it helps her get some added protein in her day. Will definitely recommend to friends and buy on repeat.
Megan · Strawberry Fort
My 18 month old has been loving this every evening to help him wind down before bedtime, and I know he's getting the nutrients his body needs before a good night's sleep.
Maria · Vanilla Vanguard
A fussy two and four year old who love milkshakes. This bundle worked for both a strawberry and a chocolate lover and helped ease my mind about nutrient intake. Fills their belly and eases the constant request for snacks.
Amy · Kids Immune + Whisk Bundle

Beyond the milkshake

Waffles, gummies, muffins. Same scoop.

Collagen is heat-stable, so a scoop goes into baking as happily as into milk. Here are the ones our kids ask for.

1

One scoop (about 1.5 tablespoons) into 200ml of any milk: full cream, oat, soy, almond, whatever they drink.

2

Whisk it properly. It's real wholefood with no emulsifiers, so it wants a hand mixer or a good shake. Warm or cold both work.

3

Or hide it. Stir through yoghurt or porridge, blend into a smoothie, or bake it into the recipes above.

Questions parents ask

Straight answers, from Nic.

Anything about your child's allergies, medications, pregnancy or a specific health question, email me and I'll answer you myself.

What age can my child have it, and how much?

From 12 months. The label's percentages are the recommended intake for ages 1 to 3, but older kids and teens have it too.

  • 12 months to 4 years: 1 scoop (about 1.5 tbsp, 15g) a day. It can be split between a milkshake and cooking.
  • 4 years and over: 1 to 2 scoops a day.
  • Adults: safe to enjoy, including in pregnancy and while breastfeeding. For a grown-up formula, see Mother's Replete.

It's wholefood, so think of it like food rather than medicine. The serving size is a guide.

Is protein powder safe for kids?

This one is. It's a food, not a sports supplement: 9.4g of protein a scoop from hydrolysed collagen, which FSANZ lists as a safe wholefood protein, with L-tryptophan added so the amino acid profile is complete. There are no stimulants, no sweeteners beyond the real flavours, and no megadoses. It isn't a meal replacement, and we always say food first. If your child has a medical condition or is on a special plan, run the label past your GP.

Does my child actually need it?

Plenty of kids eat beautifully and don't. Ours go through weeks where dinner mostly gets pushed around the plate, and that's who I built it for: the daycare years, the fussy phases, the stretches when appetite drops. One scoop covers their protein and the immune nutrients on the days the plate doesn't.

No added sugar, so how does it taste good?

Collagen has no chalky, beany taste to cover up, so it only needs real flavour: strawberry with a touch of coconut milk powder, raw cacao rounded with carob, or vanilla bean. Natural sugars sit at 0.4g to 0.8g a scoop depending on the flavour, and the pink comes from beetroot. Vanilla is the universal crowd-pleaser; strawberry does well with younger kids; some kids take a few goes to warm to the cacao.

Warm or cold? Can I bake with it?

Both. A cold milkshake is the easiest. For a warm drink, whisk the scoop into a splash of cold milk first, then warm it gently rather than tipping powder into boiling milk. In baking, the collagen, minerals, choline and tryptophan are stable; some of the B vitamins and vitamin C reduce a little with heat, so for the full dose a milkshake or smoothie is best.

Can I pre-mix it for daycare or the lunchbox?

It's best made fresh because there are no synthetic emulsifiers to keep it suspended. If you do pre-make it for daycare, pop it in a sealed bottle and give it a good shake right before they drink it. Our stainless steel kids bottle was made for exactly that.

Allergies: what is it free from?

All top 8 allergens: gluten, dairy, soy, nuts, eggs, fish, shellfish and sesame. Our manufacturer runs strict allergen controls and we batch-test for gluten, peanuts and tree nuts. The collagen is bovine, from beef not milk, so it has none of the milk proteins behind a cow's milk protein allergy. If your child has a diagnosed allergy, please check the full ingredient list with your health professional first.

Is it halal, and is it vegan?

The ingredients are halal sourced, but our manufacturing facility is not halal certified, so we don't claim certification. It isn't vegan: the protein is bovine collagen.

Where is it made?

Brisbane, Australia. Ingredients are sourced where the climate grows them best (the collagen comes from grass-fed, grass-finished cattle), and every supplier is vetted for quality and safety.

Why is there no iron in it?

On purpose. Zinc and iron compete for absorption, and many kids' multis cram both in. We kept the zinc here so it does its job, and made Whole Iron +C separately for the kids and mums who need iron. You can open a capsule and stir it into food from 12 months.

What if they don't like the flavour?

Email us within 14 days of delivery and we'll send a different flavour, free. You don't need to post the original back. That's the 14-day taste guarantee, and it covers every flavour.

How does the subscription work?

20% off every order, delivered monthly. Log into your account to swap flavours, change the date, skip, pause or cancel any time, or email us and we'll sort it. Subscriptions over $95 ship free, so two pouches a month ships free.
