These choc-coco energy bites are the perfect macro-balanced snack to keep your little one's blood sugar in check. You can opt for seed butter if you have a "no-nut" policy in your school.
This recipe is freezer-friendly, easy to make, and makes use of lots of pantry staples (and a little Kids Immune Protein, of course).


Recipe: Choc-Coco Energy Bites
Makes: 12 bites | Prep time: 10 mins | No bake
Nutrient Boost: These energy bites get extra protein, fibre, minerals, and slow-burning carbs thanks to whole-food oats, dates, nut/seed butter, and our Cacao Cavalry Immune Protein — perfect for steady energy and balanced blood sugars.
Ingredients
• 1 cup rolled oats
• 2 tbsp Unrefined Nutrients Cacao Cavalry Immune Protein
• 2 tbsp cocoa powder
• ½ cup pitted Medjool dates (about 6 large)
• 2 tbsp maple syrup
• 2 tbsp nut butter (peanut, almond or cashew), or sunflower seed butter for nut-free
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 tbsp desiccated coconut
• 1 tbsp water (if needed to help it blend)
Instructions
1. Add oats to a food processor and blitz for 10 seconds to break them up.
2. Add dates, protein powder, cocoa, maple syrup, nut butter, and vanilla.
3. Blend until a sticky dough forms (about 30–60 seconds). If the mix is too dry, add 1 tablespoon of water at a time until it sticks together easily when pressed.
4. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll into balls.
5. Chill for 30 minutes to firm up.
Tip: For extra crunch, roll the balls in desiccated coconut or crushed puffed rice before chilling.

Fridge: up to 1 week
Freezer: up to 2 months (defrost overnight or pop straight into a lunchbox to thaw and enjoy by snack time).
