If you’re about to become a ‘lunch box mum’ (with your little one starting school next year..), or you just need to add a few more recipes to the lunch box rotation, Ash from @ashleigh.cooks has new recipes for you to try! This first one is a healthier, higher protein take on the classic "tiny teddy".
This recipe is freezer-friendly, easy to make, and makes use of lots of pantry staples (and a little Kids Immune Protein, of course).
Recipe: Tiny Teddies
Makes: 30 tiny teddies |
Prep time: 30 mins |
Bake time: 10–12 mins
Ingredients
• 1 cup plain flour
• 2 tbsp Unrefined Nutrients Cacao Cavalry Immune Protein
• 2 tbsp cocoa powder
• ½ tsp baking powder
• ¼ cup maple syrup
• ¼ cup melted butter 60g
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1–3 teaspoons of milk (or water), as needed
Method
1. Preheat oven to 170°C fan forced. Line a tray with baking paper.
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, protein powder, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
2. Add maple syrup, melted butter, and vanilla, then stir until crumbly.
3. Add milk gradually until a soft dough forms. It should hold together, but not feel sticky. It will be smooth and shiny.
4. Place a sheet of baking paper on your bench top, and roll out your dough to about 2–3mm thick. Cut out bears (or your desired shape) and place them on your tray.
5. Bake for 10 minutes.
6. Cool completely on a wire rack. They’ll crisp slightly as they cool
