An Unrefined Nutrients customer sent me the recipe for these brownies (as she'd incorporated our Immune Protein) and I tweaked it by adding some olive oil, coconut sugar and mixed up the type of nut butter. I could not gate keep this recipe any longer so she has given me permission to share.
This recipe is AMAZING! I have never been great at making brownies but this one is a winner. Perfectly crispy & chewy on the outside but "moist" on the inside. It also is a winner because it contains a great source of protein, magnesium, healthy fats and l-tryptophan.
Serves: 12-14
Ingredients
- 2 cups almond butter (or smooth nut butter of choice - heat for 30 seconds in microwave or saucepan to soften)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- ⅓ cup cacao
- 2.5 tbsp Unrefined Nutrients Immune Protein Cacao Cavalry
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla essence
- ½ cup pure maple syrup
- 3 tbsp coconut sugar (optional)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup choc chips
Method
Blend all ingredients (aside from choc chips) in a food processor until well combined. Note, ensure almond butter is heated so it blends well (I add the almond butter as the final ingredient into the blender to prevent it sticking to the bottom).
The consistency should be shiny, gewy and gelatinous. Add choc chips and blits for 30 seconds.
Cook for 30-45 mins or until top is slightly crispy and a knife can be removed and comes out clean.
NOTE - allow these to FULLY cool before cutting or consuming. Refrigerate after 2 days.
